Our “Intro to Genealogy” teachers |
Our “First Saturdays Free” series kicks off the new year on Saturday, January 2. The new year means a restart of our popular monthly “Introduction to Genealogy” series, which begins with a “Genealogy Basics”overview and cycles through more in-depth classes on the census, vital records, and how to organize your research. This is one of our most enduring and popular series, suitable for beginners or for those wanting to refresh their genealogical skills. Our rotating team of talented instructors includes experienced CGS genealogists Jennifer Dix, Lisa Gorrell, Ron Madson, Pam Miller, Dick Rees, and Lavinia Schwarz.
The classes can be taken at any time and in any order, but why not start the new year off right with the first in the series? Since moving the presentations online during the pandemic, we’ve seen a great increase in participation, with lots of opportunity for questions and discussion.
“Genealogy Basics” begins at 10:15 a.m. this coming Saturday, January 2. To reserve your spot in this FREE course, visit our EventBrite listing. Hope to see you on Saturday!
