CGS welcomes book donations. Your contribution will either be added to our permanent collection or if we already have a copy we will sell the book and add the profit to our General Fund. To donate one or more books please drop them off at the library or call or email the library committee to arrange a pick up. You can reach the library committee at: [email protected]
CGS has an extensive manuscripts collection. These items are often one-of-a-kind materials. We catalogue this material and list it in WorldCat so researchers will know what is available at the library. If you have questions about donating to a manuscript please contact: [email protected]
Do you have a trust, 401k, life insurance policy, retirement plan or other investment vehicle? If so, please consider naming CGS as a beneficiary. Setting this up is very simple and can be handled through your investment company. You will need to provide the CGS tax identification number (Tax ID 94-6130842), our address, official name (California Genealogical Society Inc.). Everyone who supports CGS in this way becomes a member of our Legacy Society, so please let us know if you have already named CGS as a beneficiary. There are no dues or fees associated with being a Legacy Society Member. Legacy Society members are recoginized as donors (with your permission) and receive special invitations.
