We can hardly wait for this year’s National Genealogical Society conference, “Our American Mosaic,” scheduled for May 24-28 in Sacramento. CGS is the local host society! A number of the speakers are CGS members. Over the next weeks, we will be highlighting each of these speakers. Today:
SHEILA BENEDICT gives two talks this year. On Thursday, May 26, she addresses “Is It Quality Research or Grandma’s Army Boots?” On Saturday, Mary 28, she speaks about “California Historic Missions and Their Records.” Sheila worked as an archivist at Mission Santa Inés from 2001 to 2018. She is the current president of the Association for Professional Genealogists’ Writers’ SIG and the author of the guidebook Research in California.
If you haven’t yet registered, now is the time! Early Bird Discounts apply through this Friday, March 18. Complete schedule and registration details are available at the Conference website, https://conference.ngsgenealogy.org/
Also: Volunteers wanted! We need lots of help to keep things running smoothly. Even an hour or two makes a difference. Please take a look at the Volunteer Sign-up Sheet and see what slots are open.
