May events at CGS

We have a variety of live and recorded events in May. Don’t forget the free California Research Series: the final presentation is Tuesday, May 4. Videos of the classes in this series will be free to view through the end of May.

Tuesday, May 4: Genealogical Resources at the National Archives in San Francisco. Archivist Sean Heyliger discusses the holdings of this branch of NARA. They include information on Alcatraz inmates, Alien Case Files, immigration case files, Bureau of Indian Affairs, records of US District Courts and Court of Appeals, maritime record groups, Bureau of Land Management/General Land Office, military records, and New Deal personnel records.

Sat., May 7Intro to Genealogy, our monthly free basics class. This month: Genealogy Basics with Pam Miller.

Wed., May 11: Members’ Roundtable. A chance to chat with other CGS members, share your research, and ask questions of fellow genealogists. Meets 2nd Wednesday every month. See Special Interest Groups to register.

Sat., May 14: Monthly Board Meeting. All welcome.

Date TBA: Eastern European Special Interest Group.

Family Tree Maker and RootsMagic groups will not meet in May.
