Don’t miss this! On Friday, June 23, 3:30-5 p.m., Members of Los Californianos, a nonprofit representing descendants of the Hispanic residents of Alta California (1769-1848). They will discuss the Huntington Library’s Early California Population Project, a database containing baptism, marriage, and burial records of each of the California missions and providing historical information on the Indians, soldiers, and settlers of Alta California. Wednesday, June 14, 11 a.m.: “Tips & Talk” at the Oakland FamilySearch Center. This week: “Using the FamilySearch Wiki.” Also, learn how to use the Center’s photo and video digitizing equipment. Volunteers needed! Our tireless Digital Archiving Committee has begun digitization of our entire Vertical Files, a monumental task. We work assembly-line style, scanning, labeling, and indexing, Mondays from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. We do have snacks and fun as well!
