Reem Awad-Rashmawi speaks about Arab American genealogy.

The National Genealogical Society conference, “Our American Mosaic,” is scheduled May 24-28 in Sacramento. CGS is the local host society! A number of the speakers are CGS members. Over the next weeks, we will be highlighting each of these speakers. Today:

REEM AWAD-RASHMAWI gives a talk on “Arab American Genealogy Research” Thursday, May 26 and Saturday, May 28. She discusses research techniques for finding recent immigrants as well as those who have been in the U.S. for generations. She also presents “Taking Your Family Oral Histories One Step Further,” on May 25. Reem is an immigration attorney, genealogist, and community historian who has been researching her Arab and European American family for over 30 years.

If you haven’t yet registered, now is the time! Early Bird Discounts available through this Friday, March 18. Complete schedule and registration details are available at the Conference website, https://conference.ngsgenealogy.org/

Also: Volunteers wanted! We need lots of help to keep things running smoothly. Even an hour or two makes a difference. Please take a look at the Volunteer Sign-up Sheet and see what slots are open.
