Monday, May 22, 7-8:30 p.m. DNA Special Interest Group. DNA Skills SIG members will continue to develop their understanding of DNA techniques, review new developments in DNA testing and tools, and discuss members’ research problems and case studies. Wednesday, May 24, 11 a.m. & 7 p.m.: “Tips & Talk” at the Oakland FamilySearch Center. Preregistration requested. This week: longtime CGS member and OFSC volunteer Jane Lindsay discusses “Finding Living Family Members To Help You With Your Research.” She explains why it is important to connect with cousins, aunts and uncles who often have records, photos and family stories that can help further your family research. Jane says, “My family member discoveries have brought my family to life and added a new dimension to my research!” Feel free to bring a lunch and hang out afterwards to get help with your genealogy and/or use the library’s many resources. Free.

Wednesday, May 24, 6:30-8:30 p.m. RootsMagic Special Interest Group. Keith Montgomery heads this group where RootsMagic users meet to discuss helpful hints for using the software. Group will review their experience in updating to version 8. Topics include review of various screens and functions of RootsMagic with group suggestions on best usage and practice.
